Reflexology is an ancient healing practice with roots dating back over 5,000 years, originating in Egyptian, Chinese, and Indian cultures. Based on the principle that specific reflex points on the feet, hands, and ears correspond to organs, glands, and systems throughout the body, targeted pressure applied to these points can help release tension, improve circulation, and support the body's natural healing processes. Modernised in the 20th century through the work of Eunice Ingham, whose mapping of reflex points underpins the practice today, reflexology goes beyond simple relaxation - promoting balance and well-being on a physical, mental, and emotional level.
We also offer a dedicated Reflexology & Sound Therapy Programme for Subfertile Couples.
Most people feel calm and relaxed after a treatment. They may even feel sleepy. Occasionally, people feel nauseous, anxious or tearful, but this is only temporary and is considered to be part of the healing process. To get the most out of your treatment you should try to take it easy afterwards and drink plenty of water, which helps flush out toxins.
Each therapy session typically lasts 60 minutes. After treatment, any significant findings will be discussed with you. As the effects of reflexology are cumulative, many people find it beneficial to continue with regular treatments.
