Discover the benefits and effects of our therapies.
We’ll have an initial consultation so that we can establish if the treatment is right for you. I then ask you to lie on your side on a therapy bed and I’ll gently insert a special candle in your ear. The burning action of the candle turns to vapour the herbs and essential oils making up the candle. The vapour is drawn into the ear canal. This performs a massaging function as well as softening any impurities. Gentle heat from the candle stimulates blood circulation, increases the cleansing circulation of lymph from the lymphatic system, intensifies the immune system and stimulates energy points and reflex zones. This regulates the pressure system within the ear and head. I repeat the treatment on your other ear. You then relax while I give you a relaxing but therapeutic ear, face and neck massage to encourage lymphatic drainage.
No, the candle is made from beeswax, natural cotton, honey extract and herbs such as sage, St. John’s wort and chamomile – known for their therapeutic properties.
No, your ear, hair and head are protected by towels. Any accumulation of powder in the ear may be gently removed using cotton buds.
You’ll feel relaxed – it’s a soothing treatment. Earwax is softened and loosened during the treatment and you may notice it coming out of your ear over the following 24 hours in a completely natural way (chewing gum aids this process). You may notice you breathe easier as the treatment unblocks the sinuses. Your eyes may water slightly as it cleanses the sinuses around the eye area.
Carry on about your day as normal. If showering or washing your hair within the 24 hours following the treatment, it is advisable to put cotton wool in your ears to keep them dry.
